Outdated Software Dual Boot HELP!! lol

Hello,

I have a new client that has old Peachtree Accounting software and simply MUST have it on her new Win 7 desktop PC. The software is no longer supported and she needs Dual Boot 7/xp to run it in XP.

Ive looked around at options but the results if done wrong are pretty scary to be honest. How can I get her to boot up easily in either OS and run this ancient software?

How to install Windows XP over Windows 7 in a dual boot ?

Make sure you have W7 install DVD before you start since you will need it to be able to boot into W7 after XP has taken over the machine.

As long as you have the boot discs it's not that hairy. But it's a good idea to back up the current set up to an external USB with something like Macrium Reflect so you can get it back if things get really hosed.

edit: if you search the tutorials there should be guides how to back up an image and restore using Marcrium Reflect. It doesn't have to be Macrium. You can find several free imaging utilities on www.TheFreeCountry.com

I believe this software runs correctly in compatibility mode. Have you tried that?

Also there is an updated version: Sage Peachtree Accounting and Financial Software - Sage Peachtree Pro Accounting

When you say "old" what version; you talking old as in v. 7 or 8 era?
