Overclock AMD Phenom II X4 3.4?

So I'm a little interested in overclocking my AMD Phenom X4 cpu. However, I have never overclocked before and I'm not sure how safe it would be. Using a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 motherboard with and ATI Radeon HD 5850 and 8GB RAM. Would it be safe and to how much could I clock it?

Which phenom is it 965BE 925 945 ? When i used to overclock my Phenom i just upped the multi on stock voltage and it ran to 4.1 Ghz stock voltage mind you this is a 965BE and pretty much everyone who owned it done the same stock voltage allows a decent upclock

Also stock cooling is ok with a phenom if it was a FX chip then i would worry most likely if your temp wall is 70c i would want it to be 40 to 45c tops even in gaming stock cooling will be ok but a coolermaster 212 would keep it cool and is very cheap now days

I would just like to chime in and say that the only time you should consider overclocking is if you can afford to replace the components if you destroy them. An OC carries a risk of failure, and the failure can be expensive at times.
