PC Decrapifier problem

I can't win for losing !!! I finally decide to use a program I've read so much about & it turns around & bites me in the butt! It found one, gave me the option to read comments so clicked there & up pops a screen telling me I had the wrong browser to view them! What gives?

Sorry, I'm so flustered about it that I didn't think to explain better. I did download decrapifier & ran it, it found the BingBar but I wanted to read others comments before I deleted it. I just closed out at that point so don't even know if the scan was done. Does it work just one program at a time? I expected to see several listed.

No it's suppose to locate more . You could uninstall Bing Toolbar from Uninstall inside the control panel .

Click on rb: type Programs and features and press ENTER on the keyboard . Once you get to the uninstall Window choose Bing Tool bar and click uninstall .

Again, I missed saying that the reason for my 1st post was that it was telling me that I had the WRONG BROWSER but as my shot shows, I DO have IE 9.
Actually, somewhere in the back of my mind I have seen some other screen tell me that I have something other than IE, seems like it was Netscape or something to do with Mozilla. ???

The report is telling you that BING BAR only works with Internet explorer and if you are using another browser you can choose to remove it or not.

okeedokee, so the best way to do away with BingBar is to go to the list of Installed Programs thru Control Panel which is what PC Decrapifier would do anyway?

I'm not sure if I should be glad or disappointed that PCD only found the one? I am surprised tho', because I don't remember removing too much from my PC when I first got it mid Feb of last year.

I am wanting to clean up this machine & thought PCD would be a good starting point, guess I was wrong so will uninstall it along with Bing Bar.

Once you get the Bing Tool Bar gone. Let us know what you are trying to get rid of in more detail. That will help us guide you better.

Thanks LB, right off the top of my head would be: PC Decrapifier & Defraggler(Piriform) which I installed, then Silverlight which has just been sitting here with a date of 3/31/11.

I bought this machine new (or so I thought) mid Feb. last year & find lots of things listed in Programs with install dates of 2011, with no dates listed for 'last used', or anything else.

Back on any UNinstalls, I'm just a bit leary due to the mess I had after my uninstall of SuperAdBlocker ( which I posted about here in the board somewhere). I'm not sure if I should uninstall from Programs in Control Panel, check to see if the 2 I installed have their own uninstaller, or should I install Revo?

No problem ramble if you must.
The way I would do it if it was my computer would be use Revo when I could. My next choice would be Ccleaner. They both do a very good job.
Programs like Decrapifier & Defraggler I wouldn't use but that is my personal choice. I use Silverlight on Microsoft's web sites. The point is you have to decide what you want to remove we can only give guidance.

Under Tools it will give you a list of programs and it's able to remove them if you so desire to.

Unless you are very knowledgeable with Windows 7 registry I don't recommend using the registry part of Ccleaner.

Thanx again. Should have mentioned that I have CCleaner. Does it do better at removing all traces of an uninstall than using Add/Remove?(wrong term now with Win7 but easier to type). I went with Add/Remove for Bing Bar, then searched my PC for it & found some, will post shot. No, I never mess with the Registry , that's the reason that Revo spooks me,I'm afraid I'll click on the wrong thing. I had it once & even used it but uninstalled because of that fear. Now, gonna ramble some more . . . .
1) Without having to type in each post, how do I list that I have such programs as CC, MBAM,etc.?

2) Referring back to post #7, I guess I removed more than I remembered. While searching for leftovers of Bing Bar I found quite a list of things I 'thought' I'd removed! I'm not worried about losing disk space but just thought it would speed up scan times of CC,MBAM, Belarc,MBSA, etc.

Should I start a whole new thread for those questions? Sometimes I really don't know which area to post in but figure if it's too wrong that an Admin. will move it.

My 1st shot is what I first found after uninstall of Bing Bar which then lead me to that 'OEM Preload' folder where I found evidence of last years removals (2nd shot). The check marks are what I did then, the X is one of my next ones to do.

Look through a computer for all the tid bits of things you don't want can take forever.
Programs you don't want should be listed in Ccleaner under Tool.
If you want to save time and have a clean mean Windows 7 this would be the best way I know of. Read through it and see what you think. I do very few because I have no need to do but the man who wrote the Tutorial has done many. The Tutorial has worked for thousands.

Wow, I've got lots more to learn about 'computering' than I thought!! Just read thru that tut & am really lost. I don't think I want to start over so went thru some of the other tuts that had links either in the original or at bottom of page, sorry, I read so much that now can't remember, & there again I found confusion. May be due to the fact that I'm on 'overload' from this last week, I've hardly moved from this chair & believe I almost have blisters on my butt. :roflmao:

I hate to admit this but I've never even done the regular Disk Cleanup 'cuz I don't know what some of the listed items mean & don't want to mess something up.
I'm not concerned about being short of disk space, just concerned about junk in here that slows me down.

I do have & use CCleaner. ( wish I knew how to have that permanent in my posts without typing each time )

If you are not sure what to trust all I can do is tell you what I trust.
CCleaner for cleaning up things and Disk Cleaner Extended.
I use both daily. Sometime more often.
I do have other programs I use occasionally but I don't think they will be to your liking.

Disk clean up is part of Windows 7 and Windows 7 doesn't like to hurt Windows 7. To me that is safe.
