Case appears to be acceptable for a new mobo, I would see if the exhaust fan can be upped to a 120mm and maybe the front as well. Again it's your money but if you go with a new PSU I would look for a combo deal case and PSU and check with us before pulling the trigger.

For ram I would go with Crucial Tracer:

In a new case with a side window, you won't stop staring at them ! Different case and build - i7 rig !

i don't have any idea on what i need to look for, what brand, best deals, compatibility. so i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction, or at least give me a link to something that would best fit me. as well as anything else that could my machine run better. if you don't mind of course. because i'm not sure of all the specifications i would need for a new motherboard. doesn't it have to be a certain size so all of the other parts will fit onto it? and what about the psu? i'm not sure what to look for on that either.

I just did for the mobo & ram. If you want to consider more then a budget and such is the best place to start!

You should use that calculator I attached earlier and add extra capacity, but if it was me I would just pull the trigger on a nice combo case/psu like this:
