PC has been slower since last format

We cannot tell anything from the Event Viewer screenshot except that you have some repeat errors. With these it's best to click on them and google the text and identifiers to find out what they are and how others have dealt with them.

I do resolve all repeat errors or at least want to know what they are. But the task becomes less pressing as long as performance remains good. If performance slips or there are issues you know where to look.

Here are other resources to use to monitor your Systems' performance and follow the best troubleshooting steps

I have formatted again and my computer is still slow after booting, I've tried all of those Troubleshooting steps, but I get the same error every time I boot my PC, when I check the Event viewer It matches the time I turned on my PC :(

Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188

There aren't any solutions on Google

Google the exact text error and identifying numbers and it should yield something - almost every error now does.

Please fill in your System Specs in bottom left corner of post: Speccy - Download

Did you replace drivers given by the Win7 installer and/or optional updates with drivers from the official webpage? If so first try rolling the driver back to the ones Win7 wants you to use.

Then try updating the chipset from the Asus website, but only after trying the one Win7 or optional Updates gives you first.

I installed the drivers given by Win 7 first, then after installing every program I downloaded the last ones from their respective official website, should I still roll the drivers back? If so, how can I do it?
The chipset is the motherboard driver right? The ones I have installed are the latest version.

Use the drivers given by the installer and quickly updated by optional Windows Updates.

Then only import drivers which are missing in Device manager.

Did you have a chance to run your computer with just the Installer drivers and those delivered by optional Updates? If so how was performance?

If you can find the Restore Point where you began changing out drivers given by the installer and optional Updates I would System Restore to that point, then run optional Windows Updates to get the drivers Win7 wants for your system. Run like this for long enough to see how performance is before importing any drivers except for those missing in Device Manager. Then if there are problems you can start with importing your chipset from the Asus website Downloads page for your model.

Please also fill in your System Specs in the bottom left corner of your post as I specifically asked you earlier. Is there a reason why you are unable to follow simple steps given? If so please ask back all the questions needed to get things done and don't just ignore the clear instructions given.

Sorry I was in a hurry when I wrote the last message so forgive me for writing some things wrong , first of all I installed motherboard drivers, then GPU drivers, then mouse and keyboard, everything from the CDs that came with them, I used that guide to a clean Windows 7 Reinstall and I did everything it says!

Anyways, I've done a recover to when I installed the first game xD (prior to all Win 7 update downloads) and it takes a lot amount of time to finish the "on-screen boot" The driver that's on ASUS webpage it's the same one I have on my Driver CD that came with the motherboard (I already checked that version) Could it be that it has something with my Hard Drive Ultra DMA CRC Error Count?

I'm really sorry for the System Specs thingy, I thought you mean the ones from Speccy xD I've just figured there's a "My system Specs" button in the left top of the screen, I apologize! :(

Let me try to put it another way since I'm apparently not making it clear:

Win7 knows which drivers it wants your computer to have and issues these from the installer, then any drivers needing further updating after install are sent through via optional Windows Updates.

So you only need to supply drivers which are missing after install.

I would not change out these drivers given by installer or optional Updates unless performance requires it.

Did you change any drivers which were given by the installer and optional Windows Updates? If so this may have caused your problems because these drivers should not have been added until later when it was certain they would solve problems.

I'd test my HD using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan
and .Disk Check.

I only downloaded Windows Important and recommended updates, and from the Optional updates just a language pack.

I have run the Complete HD Diagnostic by booting with the ISO I have burnt and the tests were OK (I also tried the full HD test which took around 3 hours)

I tried disk check too (with Scan and fix) , but it keeps happening, HD Tune shows that HD Health is OK and when I did the Error Scan I got green squares.

Did you keep the drivers which were given by installer during install?

Were there any newer drivers offered by optional Windows Update?

Yes I kept them and no Windows Update didn't offer me any optional updates rather than the video card ones

If you didn't change any drivers given by the installer, then I'm confused by what you wrote here. Please clear up my confusion:

first of all I installed motherboard drivers, then GPU drivers, then mouse and keyboard, everything from the CDs that came with them,

Do you still have only drivers given by the Win7 DVD and optional updates?

Have you clicked on the repeat errors you have in Event Viewer to google their text to find out what they pertain to, and how others have resolved them? You will find clues here to your performance problems.

Once you comb the logs and use the other System Resources like(Check for Problems, Check for Performance Issues and Generate a System Health Report as given in these troubleshooting steps, then if the cause of your performance problems doesn't become clear then I would install the chipset drivers from the Asus website to see if it helps. Keep an eye open for optional Windows Updates drivers as there are normally several.

If you have questions on performing any of these steps, ask back for further help. You want to be thorough and not miss any steps or fail to report back everything.

What I did was (after the recovery I did yesterday) install these drivers (chipset, gpu, keyboard and mouse) and then updated the HD 6800 driver from Windows Optional (although it was in Recommended and not in the optional updates tab)

IIs it odd that sometimes when I restart my PC the programs seem to load faster (and startup time on screen is reduced) than when I turn it off and turn it on again?

I have tried all of these steps thorough this week , still no solution , I'm downloading the chipset drivers (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5KPL/EPU&p=1&s=22 ) at the moment so I'm going to report back how is everything after installation, although those are the same version as I have)

Thanks a lot for all the help you have given me! ;);)

EDIT: Keeps happening, the latest drivers for my motherboard are from 16th June 2009 according to ASUS

If you changed out a bunch of the drivers given by the installer without testing performance first then it may be the cause of your performance problems.

This is not XP. Win7 is the authority on what drivers it wants. This is why I said in Reinstalling Windows 7 to only import drivers which are missing after optional Windows Updates delivers its newer drivers.

Is there any chance you were able to test performance at all before you changed out the drivers? When exactly did the bad performance start?

Well I hadn't had the chance to try them before changing all the drivers because I changed them before installing any new programs, the bad performance started as soon as I installed every program the boot became slow, I tried it before installing the programs but it was way faster for obvious reasons (I had no programs to start at startup at that time). Is there a way to unistall all the drivers again (without doing recovery again) and install just the ones from the installer (does this mean the CD?) and if it works okay or not?

Look at System Restore points to see if you still have a restore point from right after install - it would prob be the first batch of updates - before you changed drivers and started installing programs.

This is why it says in the steps I gave you to test performance after each program install - so you can isolate which one causes the problems.

If you can't Restore to start over, I'd clean reinstall and this time follow the steps which are based on helping with thousands of reinstalls here.

That restore point just disappeared O_O , I want to format as a last resort, anyways I have replied the personal message, let's see if we can fix it without having to format :(

I'm going to sleep, we can try tomorrow though :)

With all the programs disabled at start up it was normal (like how it should work, but without any programs) Is there a way to turn everything back to normal now? and see which program is causing the problem? I've had Daemon Tools since I started using Vista and used it with Seven and I never had any problems :(

Why do you want all of these programs to start up with Windows? They become freeloaders on your RAM, CPU and Startup when they should wait to start up when you click on them.

It's always best for performance to run a Clean Boot.

If you must have these start up with Windows then add them back in msconfig>Startup, but realize you are going in the opposite direction from good performance.

There were a lot of probs with Daemon tools early on but we don't hear much about it any longer since it isn't considered a Win7 app at all.
