Solved Phenom X4 underclocked

Hi folks, i have a ASRock N68C-S UCC updated with the lated bios, and for some reason my AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3200 MHz only runs at 800MHz, i have tried to sort it but no luck. It means i have to overclock in order to meet the speed which it should be.

Pls help.

why cant you just get rid of the bios version you useing and update it back to the original one sometimes manufactuars dont recommend updating the bios i dont know why but some of them do

Under light load (or no load) some cpu's do that have you tried running something like prime95, or loading up the cpu?

Cpu-z and gpu-z both free and useful

I did have the original Bios and i updated it.

How do i just load the cpu up??????????????????

i also forgot to mention if you have the acc feature that might of been shut off and some cores might not be unlocked

I do not need the UCC function as my full 4 cores have been bought unlocked

I have not found a solution, i am happy with it now as i am used to it. I know it can be annoying, but it has grown on me, as it runs fine overclocked to factory setting.

Is yours running fine now, does it say HT Link as 2000 instead of 1000mhz now???

In bios, i can not change the HT Bus speed over 1000MHZ what so ever. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I shall try something else.

I havent changed anything in bios nor have i used any kind of overclocking utilityes

with phenom cores you can change the Ht if it allows you to change the multiplyer should be able to change this

I sure if you have any kind of manual tools in the bios for multiple clock calibration

if you have a over clock tool uninstall it reboot and see if it resets the system to default

then proceed to manual over clock if you didnt use a oc tool i would have taken the cpu back and exchanged for a new one why bother trying to fix it at this point maybe it has a couple cores gone bad

Ah look at this "*If you use AM3 / AM2+ CPU on AM2 chipset motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200 MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s), but the CPU frequency will not be influenced." Thats what it says on the Asrock site. ASRock > Products > N68C-S UCC​

Now ive changed the multiplyer value in bios and it looks like this , btw i have no idea what im doing exactly , im just aware that what im observing isnt what i it should be

The HyperTransport Link speed has a very small effect on system performance

Yes, that is all i done was change the multiplier value to what it should be. Now it runs at what it should do. Look.

The only problem i have now, is overclocking, if i try and put it to 3400 or more, my pc does not start up. I have tried to get past this several times and have failed.

So all i do is run OC Tuner and overclock it, sometime i have stabilty issues. I really want to do it via bios. (seeing as it is designed for there mobo's). I have went to 4000mhz and it takes off like a rocket lol. I only overclock when i need to, say for high end games or poorly optimised games.

I know it is not a proper fix, but at least it gets you up to speed lol.
