I regularly access an external drive, and would like to pin the external drive to the task bar - tried but can't.

Any work around for this?

thanks - bruce

Hi reasoner. You can't pin it to the Taskbar, as it is actually a folder in Windows Explorer.

What you can do though, is Pin it to your Explorer Jumplist

To do this:
Plug the External HDD in
Open Computer (Start>Computer)
Drag the HDD's Icon onto the Explorer Icon it will say "pin to Explorer"
Now if you right click the Explorer Icon it will be at the very top

Another option is to create a toolbar just for that drive.

How to Pin or Unpin a Drive to the Windows 7 Taskbar

Right-click on the Taskbar, select Toolbars->New toolbar... On the browse window that pops up, highlight the drive, click Select Folder and a toolbar will appear on the right-hand side of the taskbar. You can then have access to the drive or any of its folders right from the taskbar.

Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.
Two great suggestions. Much appreciated.
