Okay, so I'm ripping my audio CDs,

and I just had a problem getting the drive to open,

So I looked and saw a tiny hole on the drive, I stuck a paper clip in it and it opened.

Now however I cannot get it to detect any CDs. It will not load anything.

Now I looked and I realized that my CD/DVD drive was not listed on my computer.

I am trying to figure out what driver I had, so I can try re-installing it.

I run a Dell Inspiron M5010 64 bit.

PLEASE someone help

Hello Fearless, Welcome to the forum.

Check that the connectors on the back of the drive are seated securely

:ditto: to pooch :)

And if you are comfortable working inside your case:

Here is a tip that has worked in the past.

Uninstall the optical drives in Device Manager.
Power down the computer to OFF. Disconnect the optical drives power & data cables.
Power ON the computer for a full cycle, check to see that NO optical drives are shown in Device Manager. Power down the computer to OFF. Re-connect the power & data cables to the optical drives. Power ON the computer, making sure it is connected to the Internet so win7 Updates can check for the most current drivers. Then let's see if they work.
