Solved Please help me delete some folders

I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro today. It left a few folders and when I attempt to delete them, I get the message, "You need permission to perform this action"

"You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder"

I don't have a clue what to do. Please help.

Are you an administrator on the machine or a standard user ?

I am the administrator.

Make a folder, put the folder you want to delete into that folder, try to delete the new folder. Let us know if that works.

Shawn, does this issue come from the fact that maybe Jadinolf didn`t install the app originally, and that`s why he had to take ownership of the folder ?

I'm sorry but I have never even seen that graphic before.

No idea what account unknown is.

My name is there. I don't have a user name.

The important thing is the fact the folders are gone.

Sure you do, it`s listed right there Joseph T Adinolf, you have to highlite it to see your permissions.

That would be my thoughts as well.

The "unknown user" would most likely be a deleted user account. Probably the one that originally installed the program, and could be why only System had access now that user account is no longer there.

Anytime Joseph.

"Unknown user" could be from a deleted user account, a user account from another computer that is not currently connected, etc.....

Basically previously accessed or owned by another user account that is no longer available for whatever reason.
