Im using 32 bit windows 7 build 7100. Ive portforwarded my router correctly as ive followed all of the steps on a guide that was specificly for my router. This can be found here [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRbk0B83t08"]YouTube - Port forwarding on the DG834G[/ame].

The question is what do i do now to allow my firewall to let incoming and outgoing connections for the port?

Im using the standard windows firewall.

Just make sure that you allow the application on your computer access through the firewall...

Thanks for the reply, both expeceptions are ticked, yet it's still not forwarding the port.

This is what i had done previously before posting here.

They removed that option from the default Windows Firewall, and moved it to Windows Firewall with Advanced Security instead.

  1. In the left pane, click Advanced settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security dialog box, in the left pane, click Inbound Rules, and then, in the right pane, click New Rule.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions in the New Inbound Rule wizard.
Hope this helps. :)

Restart the computer and see if the port forwards then

The reason on canyouseeme.org has changed to Reason: Connection refused. What does this mean?

It says its closed on another site. Do you know any forums where someone will be able to help me, forums specifically for this kind of thing.

Maybe someone could look over my setup here over team viewer?

there are a few ppl here who use team viewer, but im not one of them. I dont know what forums would deal with port fowarding but your router mfr might have one, you could google forums and whatever app needs the port open might have one as well.

Thanks, do you know any of the users that use team viewer, and are fairly decent in the internet and networking side of things?

When you run team viewer (or any program that access outside) you should get a prompt to allow or deny access, did you get that prompt?

It should be in the advanced firewall setup window.

My problem isnt allowing team viewer through my firewall, ive tried to open a port, which i have done correctly thought my router as i have done it before in vista. I have also setup a static ip and added an inbound rule in the firewall. Yet it still isnt open, so im requesting help via team viewer.

Can i ask what virus protection you are running?

ESET v4.. please dont tell me its that?

Best way to check is to turn it off, do not download anything, just check port forwarding, get back to us.

If its not av not firewall, and not win 7 the only thing I can think of is the router setup. can can connect to the internet, and other computers so its n ot connectivity, have you tried re-doing the fowarding in the router.
