Any one used this brand, is it good?

I've used their flash drives and cards and have always had good luck, can't speak to the SSD's but venture that they are fine. Still prefer Crucial or Samsung.

I second this, I just purchased a Crucial 256 M4 and it FLIES.

If you do indeed get the Crucial M4, we should form a M4 club . I am already planning on buying a second Crucial M4...if I keep this up, I will eventually need a PCIE Sata card to have a place to plug all these Sata drives into

When you get the SSD installed, it will blow your mind! I've not tried the Crucial, but everybody on here says they are really nice. Something to note about the first drive you linked to, the Sandisk: It uses a Sandforce controller, and while Sandforce drives used to be all the rage, quite a few developed problems and now, custom controllers are as fast, or faster than Sandforce controllers without the limitations. I recommend staying away from Sandforce drives just to be safe. The drives I would trust are Samsung, Corsair Neutron GTX, OCZ Vector and Vertex 4, Plextor M5 Pro, and the tried and true Crucial M4. Those are some of the fastest drives out there and odds are, you will not have any problems with any of those drives. Let us know when you get your SSD in!

Thanks for the advice. I did some research and heard that about the controllers. I went with the crucial M4 256 so now I'm just waiting for it to arrive.

Remember a ssd is for life not just for Christmas

I mean that in the sense that once you have had one you will never go back to a hdd.

Just finished a build for a friend and it uses a 128gb M4 and I loaded W7 in under 10 minutes and then just over 100 updates in less than 15 minutes.......wow. Every time I shut down, boot, load intensive programs and data to a SSD I just marvel !

I'm looking forward to that. I was originally going to clone my os over, but since I save everything important on separate drives I'm going to do a clean install. I will have to re-download some games but don't want all of them on the ssd anyway.

hmm.. you will need to make a smart choice when choosing a SSD. First thing to me would be reliability & second would be obviuosly speeds. I do not see any beat SF based drives in reliability yet. Having said, SF based drives are very reliable, they dont compramise on speeds either. They are blazingly fast & use their proprietory algorithms like Durawrite which makes them truly classy. This is purely out of my experience & I am really proud to be a big fan of SF based products

I will not buy anything from SanDisk anymore after they worked hard to weasel out of the warranty on a camera card (at the time, it cost over $100).

Thanks Johnnycash and Lady fitzgerald for your feedback. I have used Sandisk usb memory sticks with no issues. I went with the Crucial m4 256 for the SSD.

I have four SanDisk SD cards that have been working for years but, after they screwed me on the one that did fail, I've made it a point to not buy their products anymore. SanDisk isn't the only game in town. I've had good luck with Kingston USB flash drives and Kingston gets good reviews.

Drives with Sandforce controllers were the cause of MANY problems in the early days of SSD's. I'm sure most of the experienced users would agree that Sandforce drives had/have reliability problems. Also, the Samsung 830 SSD is regarded by most to be the gold standard in SSD reliability.......and it is not a Sandforce based drive. The compromise with the Sandforce drives are when you deal with incompressible data. The Sandforce drives don't handle that kind of data like compressible data......you lose quite a bit of speed. I am glad you have not had any problems with Sandforce based SSD's, truly! I have had too many problems personally, and read about thousands of others, to even consider owning another one. Also, the controllers in some of the top SSD's today are NOT Sandforce and they are just as fast, if not faster, than even the newest Sandforce based drives.

My intel 520 ,240 gig ssd been great but I have only had it for a few months . I know its not the fastest ssd
but all the reviews said it was very reliable , but I am new to ssd's. I can never go back to a hdd for a os drive.
