Solved Power Supply

So the power supply went out in the old Dell xps 410, that my wife uses. It lasted a while I got it in 2005. I am going to take the one out of mine to put in it and get me a new one. I know there are other threads discussing it I just like to start my own

The video card went out too, but I had a spare one to replace it.

Here is the one I'm thinking about

My current setup. I plan to eventually either sli with another 660, or get a 760/770. I am also going to get an ASUS motherboard. Edit: I will then Overclock the crap out of it

Here is what I would get: SeaSonic X750 Gold It's fully modular, runs quiet and cool, and has a really nice set of blacked out cables with it. I see it on sale all the time for $119. SeaSonic also has an X650 Gold that is identical to the 750 except for the obvious wattage difference......and I see it on sale for $99 which is a hell of a deal!

They are basically the same as the Corsair AX series......SeaSonic used to make all of the AX series, but I think they just make a few of the models now. Excellent PSU's.

Well that's a given, that is why I'm switching to ASUS. I have considered some higher end MSI mb's, but reading along here I see ASUS seems to be a better option.

Yeah, I have to say I loved my ASUS P67 EVO motherboard that I used with my old 2600K Sandy, and as you know I love my current board.
No doubt some of the other brands make some good boards, but for me I am certainly gonna stick with ASUS for my next build.

A Seasonic X650 will be more than plenty for what you are planning - a 760 + overclocking. An X750 is overkill. An X650 could even handle two 760s plus overclocking.

760 max power = 170W
processor overclock = 140W maximum
everything else about 50 watts

total max (2 graphics cards) = 530W

and you will never push all to the maximum.
