I have created a pptx presentation on my PC,(Which I can play using PPT) and copied it onto a memory stick. I also have a netbook with Win 7 and Powerpoint installed (Both were copied from the same installation disc) I have copied the presentation onto the net book but am unable to play it. The netbook keeps trying to offer to play it using Media player which it cannot, not recognizing pptx files, and I cannot find out how to tell it to play using the Powerpoint program, browsing only offers notepad, Paint etc but not Powerpoint. The netbook Powerpoint program appears to be active. Opening it up gives the same screens as does the PC version
Help please
Eric:(

Can I explain further. The netbook came with Win 7 Starter and I added MS Office Home and Student. ( on opening the netbook Win 7 Starter is still displayed and My Computer properties still shows Win 7 Starter.)
The netbook has a PPTX icon on the task bar and I can click on it and create a pptx show which I can play after creating it. If I save it to My Documents I cannot play it , getting only suggestions about Media Player, as previously noted. If I open Powerpoint via the PPTX icon and click FILE > RECENT the pptx show is listed and can be played. Trying to change the associations as you suggested Powerpoint was listed for many ppt's but not pptx which had Microsoft Office 2010 associated with it which I could not change, being offered Notebook, Paint etc but never Powerpoint.
