I am running vista sp 1 and rc sp2. I have the home premium edition When Win 7 is released, will it:
1) upgrade direct from vista to win 7?
2) Available in home premium edition so I do not have to pay for ulimate edition?
3) upgrade without destroying the vista configuration? Not so much the dats files, but will the programs transfer except for some that are not win 7 compatibe?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Rich
1) upgrade direct from vista to win 7? Have you thought about dual booting? You want to preserve Vista config Why not just keep it?
2) Available in home premium edition so I do not have to pay for ulimate edition? You may want to go with the pro version but you will be able to upgrade by phone or online means to a higher version if need be if you decide you need more than home offers.
3) upgrade without destroying the vista configuration? Not so much the dats files, but will the programs transfer except for some that are not win 7 compatibe? Again you like your vista so why nuke it? Just my thoughts I like having two operating systems on the same pc.
I do know whatever you decide,Windows Seven is going to be one awesome ride, Enjoy! lm
