Hello! I have recently had an issue with my computer not fully shutting down!

When I press on the windows icon and the press SHUTDOWN it goes to shutdown and looks like it is working but then as the monitor goes off and things get quieter, the computer still stays on!

The computer has been running great but I am very close to trying a new reformat (although Intel's driver website seems to be having issues when I go to download so this might have to wait).

I also just replaced my power supply recently, a friend came over who runs a pc shop and he sad it is installed right (he even redid it just to make sure). The PSU was like 6 years old, it would not start up before so thats why we got anew psu and put it in and its worked since (although with this not 100% shutting down)

Also I got a new motherboard and CPU put in not long ago. I have a feeling there could be a bios update I should use? I know its still an early default bios.

Asus P8Z77-V_LK
Consair 650w PSU
Intel I5
Auzen 7.1 Prelude
660ti+ 3gb version
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

When I go into events for windows after I have to shutdown the comp with the button, it says "Kernel Event" and "Session Micrsoft Security Client OOBE Stopped due to the following error: OxC000000D"
and "Microsoft Windows Setup" Stopped due to the followign error:0xC00000D" The wierd thing Is I dont even have Microsoft Security going and I dont know what the whole Microsoft Windows setup thin under event view is either. The last one Ive seen in Event View is: "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

My guess? It is a bios setting, driver or a windows corruption. I usually format once in awhile anyways, so it is around that time, but if I had to guess its a driver, software or windows corrupt file issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am not getting any BSOD or anything else that is wierd, just that it won't full shutdown and that it shows the warning or error in the event log). I have to press the power button on the front to fully turn it off. Any help before I format would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Go to the Start Orb and right tick and select Properties.
You should see a window. Then select Start Menu and you should see this. Notice the red circle.
Tick there and you will see some selections.

Thanks for the fast reply but that option is already selected! was first thing i checked hehe. Any options in bios that might cause that? Anything else that you see in that file I uploaded?

Under start menu it says POWER BUTTON ACTION: SHUTDOWN
Also the buttons below should they be checked or unchecked?? (Under privacy, below the power button action).

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

The options below have nothing to do with shutdown.
You could go to Power Options and check to make sure things are proper there.
Just type in power options off the Start Orb.

Nothing looks wrong there in the power section......

Under SLEEP it has "Allow hybrid Sleep" turned on
and Allow Wake Timers turned on.
The other two are off (Sleep after and Hibernate after).

BALANCED (Active)
Power Button Action = Shutdown
USB Settings - Selective suspend setting = disabled
PCI Express - Link state power management = Moderate power savings
Processor Power Management - Minumum Processor state = 5%
System Cooling Policy - Active
Maximum Processor State - 100%
Wireless Adaptor Settings - Power Saving Mode = Maximum Performance

Any other ideas? Was there any driver or windows issues on those files i Uploaded? or any other conflicts?

If it was my computer the next thing I would do is set Sleep and Hibernate to Never. Then reboot.

Clearing Cmos as per motherboard manual would be my next choice.
