I've got a small office setup with about 20 computers. 16 on Win XP and 4 on Win 7 Pro.
About 10 of these machines need access to an HP Officejet K5400 (without ethernet unfortunately).
It was recently plugged into a Win XP machine where it was shared fine with all of the PCs. I moved it across the room to one of my 4 Win 7 machines and set up it for sharing there. All of the Win XP machines could see it and print fine. None of the Win 7 printers will print to it though. I navigate to the computer using an explorer windows, right click and 'Connect'. The printer pops up as being fine and installs the driver from printer host.
I originally assumed this is a driver issue, but there's no way for me to change the driver locally as that screen is greyed out:
I also thought it may be some type of homegroup issue even though all of the computers are set to "Work". I switched them to Home and put them all on a homegroup which they were able to successfully join. Interesting note, they can't actually see the other homegroup computers, so maybe that's an issue?
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
