Hi all.

I'm trying to create an image with Win7, however, from some reason Win7 wants to create an image from my C: partition (so far so good) and also from my E: partition (WTF?!).

C: and E: are the same physical drive, however, that last time I created an image with Win7, it didn't auto-check partition E:.

I don't have system files on that drive. I did relocate my special folders (e.g., pictures, documents, videos...) to partition E: but it didn't rise an issue the first time I made my image.

Can anyone help me with this?

Well, if you're using the Windows 7 Backup and Restore Center to make this image, you should be given the choice of drives to back up in a check list, which you can choose from.

I think that if you start to create an image, and read each window carefully. At about the 3rd window you will be given the choice of what to back up. Hope this helps.

No I can't choose. Otherwise I would ask for help.

Look at the image:

I can't choose which partition to backup. It takes both C and E

Automagically then.

Right click My Computer, then click Manage. There select disc management from the list on the left. Post a screen of what you see.

Well then, the only thing I can think of is that pointing your libraries to the D: linked the C: with it, so that when you try backing up it wants to back up both to save your documents.

When I connect my external drive (N:) it still links C: and E:. the destination doesn't matter.
But I can't seem to figure out why the hell Win7 wants to make an image out of my E: partition

When I said D:, I meant E:, sorry 'bout that.
