Hello. I connected my iPhone to my PC and accidently clicked on import photos on the pop-up window. It started to import but then i cancelled it. It asked if I wanted to tag them and i said no. But i cannot find the photos anywhere in my computer! There were 3 photos left in the iPhone - I imported them again and this time they were correctly put in a folder in My Pictures. But no sign of the others. However, I have a feeling the bulk of it might be somewhere in the PC, as the available disk size seems to have been reduced, but I have no idea how to find them. Thanks for your help.

Hi do you know the file name of a photo and do a search for it?

I know nothing about i-stuff, but presumably the pictures are named with JPG or PNG extension. Yes? Do you know what the filenames are, or at least their syntax format? Can you find them on your phone?

Anyway, I would just install Everything Search on your PC. It is a brilliantly fast filename-search tool, that keeps an index of every folder/filename on every partition on your machine. Then you "search" for it simply by starting to type in the full or partial name you're looking for (including with * wildcards), and as you type the index is scanned and the presented hit-list reduces. The more precise is your search argument, the smaller the hit-list gets.

So, assuming your photos were all JPG, I would simply search for *.JPG. This will present a list of EVERY JPG file anywhere on your machine. Then I'd click on the "date modified" column heading, to cause a sort into descending sequence by date. Presumably your most recently grabbed JPG files will be at the top by date, and these would be the ones you just imported from the phone.

Keep Everything around. It's a FANTASTIC substitute for Windows Search when you're just wanting to search on full or partial file names, which really is probably 99.9% of the time.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Click Start and click on your user name not your picture,
On the top right search box type
.img
Then Enter,
You should see all of the images and the location
You can right click any of them and click on open folder location,

Cheers.

Thanks a lot but...

...I think the photos are really missing. I tried all that you suggested, installed Picasa but to no avail.
Something weird happened during the file transfer and I lost my photos.
Thanks anyway-

Jorge

Hi,
If it asked to tag them I believe that would be using windows photo gallery to import ?
If you open wpg Start and all programs it will be listed as that or in a windows live folder near the bottom of the list,
On the top left "blue file button" and Import tab and make sure delete after import is unchecked.
It's always best to manually access the images or at least I've found just close autoplay or import dialog boxes :/
Cheers.
