problems with wireless connection

got problem with wireless conection in HP Pavillon dv7 (Atheros ar9285 adapter) with windows 7 64bit.
Whenever i'm more than 3-4 meters away from router or behind wall, connection breaks even when signal strength is very good. Problem affects only my win 7 notebook. Got no problem with phone, two older notebooks (win xp, one with built in wifi adapter one with old crappy pentagram external usb wifi card) and palmtop connection. Adapter drivers are up to date, so are router drivers. Router is Dlink dir-615. Where's problem?

Have you tried changing the channel number in the router's wireless settings?
