Hi -- I'm running Win7 Pro 32bit and all has been good for a long time.

But, recently, when I minimize my email program Eudora to the Task Bar I am then not able to restore it to an open window. The Eudora square icon tab shows normally on the Task Bar along with all the other running programs. But, if I click on it it just flashes/pulses and Eudora fails to re-open.

While Eudora is running normally in an open window Windows Task Manager lists it both in Applications as Eudora Status: Running and in Processes: Eudora.exe

After minimizing to the Task Bar Eudora no longer shows up as a a running Application. It is, however, still shown in the Processes list. If I shut down the Eudora.exe process and then re-start it Eudora re-starts normally and runs in an open window.

What is going on?

If this is happening only with Eudora, try uninstalling it then reinstalling it.

I tried that but it didn't help. Turned out the "problem" was (as usual) "user error" --

I'm not sure how "Minimize to the system tray" became a chosen/checked option. And, I have to admit that I had not paid much attention to the distinction between "Task Bar" and "System Tray" (I mean, they're both little "storage places" for running, background software, Right?

Anyway, I unchecked "Minimize to the system tray" in the System Tray dropdown menu and Eudora is back to behaving what I consider to be normal = minimizing to its icon on the Task Bar.

The only silver lining re all the time I've wasted in the past 24 hours is that I've learned a bit more about the "System Tray".
