Would there really be a reason the average consumer would need those? Catalyst is often problematic resolved by uninstalling it. I've always heard it is only needed for overclocking or special settings used by gamers. We may be talking about two separate audiences?
Catalyst for desktops has way more features when compared to the laptop counterpart , either way i found catalyst pretty useful , but often buggy
