Solved Quick query

Am looking at getting Microsoft 2010 Office Home and Student for my brother and a fix I am on right now and my choices are to get that PKC or the full version.

I suppose one just downloads the Office from Microsoft and then applies the key code which is $89 a throw.

My other option is the three machine version at $119 but I am concerned that if I buy it here and load it onto different peoples machines it will not be allowed - especially the one for my brother in the UK.

Are there rules that will stop me doing that as it is the cheapest option of course?

Why not get Open Office, its free & allegedly better but can't confirm as I don't use any office equipment. Download Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 - FileHippo.com

Hum Derekimo That throws up what has happened to me over the years too with the 2007 version I bought namely where is the line in the sand when the HDD lets go - both my Toshiba laptops have done that and also when installing an SSD as i did just lately.

My real concern is of course my brothers machine even if I were to argue that I was just lending him the machine it would still be operating form a different IP address. A bit like me buying a three toothbrushes and only being able to use them at home

I personally think it's a tad pedantic on M$ part though - I don't pirate stuff and don't mind paying for something that I need but this to me is dragging it a little too far. For one thing how many plain users would have three machines in one house and hey what if you have five or six kids, who may even use their machines at university or suchlike - but one could argue on forever.

As for the free ones I don't go a great deal on them to be honest and in my tertiary study days it was very difficult to cross reference and research when the facilities were using Microsoft products that didn't necessarily match up.
