Radeon 4650 AGP drivers will install, but won't initialize.

So theres an old post out there explaining my problem:

However the post is about 2 years old. If I try to follow that method, I get different files unzipped from the latest ATI catalyst drivers.

Any idea how I might go about installing these drivers?

Have you tried to install the drivers through Device Manager manually?

I followed those steps to the letter from here http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/35299-install-agp-drivers-hd-3850-3650-2400-pro.html. What I did was

Downloaded the 9.11 drivers.

From the Control Panel, Device Manager, I see a generic VGA adapter and then did install driver, have disk and pointed to the CL_91526.inf

I get an error saying it's not compatible with x64 windows.

I believe the installation instructions above is for 32-bit windows.

The file mentioned in that post is a 32 bit version. Wait a minute and i'll get a x64 version here.

Good grief, AMD's site is a pain to navigate! Here is a link from guru3d instead ...

Well before trying that post, I had downloaded the latest drivers directly off of the AMD site. They installed but didn't initialize. I would reboot and the system would still say Generic VGA Adapater...That is why I tried the post above. It specifically has a modified ini file that supposedly solves this issue.

I also held down F8 when booting up to disable driver signing enforcement. However, I still wasn't able to install the drivers by pointing to the modified ini file.
