In XP everything is working fine.

I windows 7 I have no problems except using the TV-OUT.
when trying to view in TV I see a mix of white line going up and down and not any real picture.

Tried to install catalyst 9.4 and get error during installation.
In catalyst 9.5 I get no error but there isn't any shortcut to Ati control center and there is no real change. It keeps using Microsoft original driver.

tried to use "projector" and it's just the same

help me please.

The ATI driver is not being installed on your system. I had the same issue...
It seems that ATI are not too keen on providing Win7 support on older cards.
I finally managed getting 9.3 to work (9.4 didn't) by both patching with Mobility Modder and manually editing the .inf
After that the driver loaded correctly and TV-Out (S-Video) was working.
There's a new version of the modder available now This may or may not help with eliminating the need to edit the inf...I don't know...you can try it yourself.

Try the new modder on 9.3, install and see if that works. If not do some research on the DH forum:

DriverHeaven Tools Discussion

You'll find instructions there on how to edit the .inf (do some digging). The latest version of the modder (1.2.0.0) is also available there.

got it to work without the modder.
just edited the .inf and updated it with my hardware ID and manually install it through device manager.

thanks.

update:
after reboot the screen got fuzzy and I couldn't see anything.
I got into "safe mode" and went back to the original microsoft driver but the change is that now I had the secondary display adapter also (which I didn't had before) that's in fact enables the TV-OUT.
I reboot again and currently i'm using the original microsoft wddm driver with TV-OUT and it's working great.

so the deal is to get 2 display adapters and that happened only after manually install the ATI 9.3 drivers and then going back to the microsoft's ones.

As I mentioned before, you could try earlier catalyst versions. I think most people started experiencing difficulties since 9.2.

Do try patching with the modder too.

1. download catalyst 9.3 for windows vista from ati.amd.com (the 40mb version with CCC).
2. run the setup, the catalist control center will be install ok but the driver will fail.
3. go to device manager and manually update the driver. direct the process to this .inf file - drive:\ATI\Support\9_3_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF\CL_76828.inf
4. select ATI RADEON 9600/X1050 Series or whatever it finds.
5. install the driver even if you get the warning.
6. after installation run CCC and you supposed to have all the options.

WARNING: as I mentioned before, at the first restart the drivers got ****ed up and I could not see anything. I had to start the computer in safe mode and go back to the original WDDM microsoft drivers, but now I have TV-OUT and CCC running.

BE CAREFUL AND DO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW TO RESTORE THINGS BACK TO NORMAL IF SOMETHING WILL MESSED UP.

1. open device manager
2. display adapters --> your card. double click it.
3. go to "details" tab and choose "hardware id" from the drop box and copy the ID (like this: "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4150&SUBSYS_9A221509&REV_00")
4. open cl_76828.inf with notepad and go to the line --> RADEON 9600 Series " = ati2mtag_RV350, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4150&SUBSYS_9A221509&REV_00
5. make sure the line is the same as your hardware id that you copied before. if not replace it with yours. (i supposed to be RADEON 9600 Series " = ati2mtag_RV350, your_hardware_id).
6. save the .inf and try to manually install again.

again, there can be side effects after restart like I said before.

:/ nothing... When I go to details in my graphic card and see the hardware Id, I see 4 id differents! However, I thing that to tell me, I open the file cl_76828.inf and I modified the line "Ati radeon 9600" (the same text was in different lines ... I changed all ) and try with the 4 options... but when I go to manually update my graphic, never see ati radeon 9600 in the list...
I think that my windows 7 copy maybe can be bad... I have the build 7100... That do you think? Thanks again :)

I have 7100 build also.
you need to copy the first hardware Id.
maybe I modified more things. this is the file I've used:

Download 76828 inf (click the link and in the next page do "save link as...")

replace it with yours. I think the hardware ID should be the same.
