Hi,

So I just upgraded my gpu to the 750 ti with a new monitor (LG29EA93-P), and ever since I got a lot of BSOD's at random times, almost all (around 13 crashes in a few days) caused by ntoskrnl.exe .

So I reinstalled windows 7 64-bit, but I still get BSOD, 6 so far in 2 days, only 4 got recorded with BlueScreenView. Only they're caused by a different file (xNtKrnl.exe)

I read that I should use windows update to get the latest updates, but somehow they fail to install (i actually got the BSOD while downloading or installing the updates). Not sure if relevant.

What do I do? Am I missing drivers? Corrupted windows files? Any help? :o

Anyone? Should I return the GPU and get another one?

You are running an Dell Product ID (PID) on an ASRock board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.

I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.

What if I install the Windows 10 upgrade? Since it's directly from Microsoft this should be genuine right? Or won't the upgrade change the genuine state of the license?

The upgrade will only give the problems to the other Operating System (OS) and probably will cause more problems, it isn't recommended on an unstable system.

An upgrade may be causing problems because an OS on top of another OS will be installed, no doubt it won't function 100% properly.

Yes, it will change the license, but not the modifications that has been made for the license you are running now.

I thought so. But I've never had BSOD's before on this windows, it only started after I installed my new GPU. Doesn't make much sense that the source of the bsod is a non-genuine windows license if it's not caused any issues before the gpu upgrade. Could it be that the GPU is faulty or a driver is installed incorrectly? Just want to make sure before getting a new windows license and having to reinstall everything.
