Random date/time change in Windows 7

Hi, as above - the date changes randomly, sometimes backwards, sometimes forwards, for a day, two, five... A few weeks ago I had this problem with changing time, but now it seems to be ok, it's just the date now. I did set the clock properly, update with the Windows server etc. The computer is just 2 months old. It's Asus, if it matters. I couldn't find any answer in the net, please HELP!!

Hello Asia, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might double check what time is set in your BIOS, and if you have the correct time zone with the proper daylight savings time option selected in Windows 7. If these are not correct, then it could cause issues with the time.

It could also be your motherboard battery (the CR2032 button cell). These are installed by the motherboard manufacturers when they test the boards, but there is no telling how long it was between the board being tested and it being installed in a working system, nor is it possible to tell how old the battery was in the first place. It's certainly worth considering, as these batteries are only ~£2 each.

Hi Asia Floyd,
I have exactely the same problem- randomly changing datetime. I have W7 ultimate and the NB is also Asus K52F ser., just 2 moths old, and have this problem since then. I'm sure that my datetime and regional settings are correct.
I have the same OS with the same settings at work and work correctly on Fujitsu NB. I'm starting to blame Asus.
PLease if you find some solution let me know I'll also do that.
