Hi all, here is my system specs:

Abit IP35 Pro
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4
Geforce GTX 460
8GB DDR2-800 (4x2GB)
750w PSU
Antec Solo case

So this is a new system build, with parts I got from a really good friend of mine second hand. It's all been working fine, benchmarks are good, temps are excellent, but it's been BSODing and freezing randomly during gaming. Occasionally the motherboard gives off one short system beep but this doesn't seem to be related to the crashing. Temps are around 60-65 for GPU and 50-60 for CPU when under heavy load. It came with 3x2GB but my friend said one of them was causing crashes so he had removed it. I replaced it with 2x1GB of the same speed as the other ram and it was fine for a day or so until it started doing the same thing again. So I replaced the ram with 2x2GB brand new, same speed again but it's still crashing and BSODing.

I read somewhere that it might need more voltage for the ram, as it has all 4 slots filled up. I checked and they're rated for 1.8v but I increased it to 1.9v just in case that fixed it.

Any ideas what might be causing it? I have the BSOD dump file for the latest crash if that helps. I have no idea how to fix this by myself.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I noticed in speedfan that the ram voltage was dropping occasionally to 1.78v which is why I thought increasing it might help, and it's now showing as 1.88v when I set it to 1.9v, so could that small drop in voltage cause a crash or system beep?

Sorry for posting in the wrong place. Here is the information requested.

Edit: I've today noticed that it will only cold boot when laying on its side. However I've recently pulled the whole thing apart to change the cpu fan and I'm 100% sure everything is reseated, and it's totally dust free. I changed the CPU fan because of this problem so it was occurring before as well.

It appears that this install is counterfeit, the SLIC table matches an HP but is installed on an OEM board, and your Bios predates Windows seven by a good two years, and this would only be possible if you had an upgrade key or a retail key. Where did you get your copy of Windows from?

It's a copy that came with my old PC which I got from a shop about a year ago. It's never popped up with the windows genuine stuff and I've reinstalled it many times on my old PC and at least 3 times on this one!
