Random freezing and BSOD

Hi.
I am running Win7 Pro on a Toshiba Qosmio x500 and have never had problems until recently, when my computer began freezing and/or giving the bsod several times a day. I had not added any new hardware/software. CHKDSK reported several files which were unreadable. The Seagate hard drive checking utility (Seatools) did not identify problems with my primary drive. Eventually my system crashed completely, and even using the original installation disk it would not load windows files. Somehow (not sure what I did) I booted the system (after several days) and I upgraded the bios firmware and formatted my drive and reinstalled windows. It worked fine for a few days, but already the bsod is beginning to reoccur with several crashes in the last few days. I can't make any sense of the crash-dumps, and can't tell if this is a hardware or software issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey and welcome to SevenForums!:orb:

The cause of your problem is overclocking. Have you overclocked?

Thanks, Laith.
I don't think its been over-clocked, but I'm not certain. How can I tell? And why do you believe this to be the case? I'm a bit out of my depth, here.
