Random generic BSODs

I'm having seemingly random BSODs, always with the same stop code.

I can be playing a video game, browsing the internet, watching a streaming flash site, writing c++, doing nothing whatsoever, asleep in bed, etc and the computer just BSODs.

I'm hoping that someone who can actually read these reports will see something obvious that I can fix to address the issue because I've no clue what's broken.

I tried researching the stop code myself and found that various forum responses all said different things (so, I'm assuming it's based off of something they read in the logs like the mini-dump and others) ranging from motherboard, memory, graphics cards, to attached peripherals... That's not exactly helpful in localizing the error...

Attached are all the logs. If you can tell me what you see that's fishy that leads to your advice, I'd love to learn!

Hi Edowyth.

A stop 0x124 BSOD is WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, WHEA means Windows Hardware Error Architecture. So it is generally said that the source of the BSOD is the hardware environment.

Are you overclocking?
As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/311593-speccy-publish-snapshot-your-system-specs.html .

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, it will take a good time for the 24 GBs.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

The BIOS to your motherboard is updated very frequently in a very short time. There must be a good reason for it. Plan to apply the latest one, Version 1505 from Motherboards - MAXIMUS VI HERO - ASUS

Thanks for the tips. I'll start by updating the bios, then I'll do some of the stress testing over the rest of this week.

Will post again if I happen to find an error.

As the BSOD is rather random, I'm just going to go through as much of this as possible short of taking the machine apart and then wait and pray. It may be some time before I post if it happens again.

Knowing that I'm not batty about the generality of the stop code makes me feel better at least, even if I've probably got some broken hardware. :sarc:
