Random Restarting

1) Plug-n-Play devices are devices that can be attached without rebooting the computer. USB devices are Plug-n-Play; IDE hard drives and PCI cards are not.

2) Just disconnect it. That way, Windows will not reinstall the drivers for it.

3) If we find the Nokia PC Suite is causing the issue, you can decide: would you rather have the restarting and crashing, or the program?

4) See if the program is listed in Revo Uninstaller.

5) Type windows update in the start menu.

6) You're welcome. :)

Thanks for answering :)

Btw... do I do all the things at one go? Or it would be a better idea removing one by one to identify the problem?

and btw is it usual to have a thread with 101 posts?? :p

EDIT: still cannot find PC Tools Security Service

Do all of them at once; if the problem stops, gradually reinstall your webcam drivers, etc.

And no, it is very rare a thread goes on this long. Most threads are solved in less than 20 posts.

I saw some traces of PC Tools in your Event Viewer maybe you might have tried to install it and it failed !! For webcam it did install the drivers so i would recommend to go to C:\Windows\Drivers and delete that driver SPC500NC

Hope this helps,
Captain

Run LoadOrd, from Microsoft TechNet SysInternals --> http://live.sysinternals.com/LoadOrd.exe

Download and save to Desktop. RIGHT-click, select "Run as Administrator". Copy all; paste into Notepad, upload & attach.

Enable boot logging in MSCONFIG.

Boot log will be available next boot-up --> c:\windows\ntbtlog.txt

Upload & attach it in addition to LoadOrd.

EDIT: Look harder for PC Tools or other - the presence of so many 0xc0000005 exception codes tells me that either a 3rd party firewall in installed (or remnants exist of one) or RAM is bad. Is all RAM matched?

And it's going to keep persisting until you learn how to get into your bios. The adjustments needed are fairly simple, yes you can do them yourself.

Usually just hitting the delate key right after you hit the start button "well before Windows starts" will get you there. Other times it's the F1 or some other key. This is something you need to know how to do on your system and it's pretty much standard procedure for setting up a new board, especially an enthusiast board.

I highly suggest you write down those system settings so that I can help you make those adjustments,.... often times it's the only way. I know exactly what to do once you get there. :)
