Random Windows 7 Basic Theme Switch

This has happened twice to me now and i cannot find anywhere where someone is having the exact same problem.

When im sitting on my desktop, maybe have one browser open or steam open, my Aero theme will randomly switch to basic theme. Now i know that problem is common, but here is what isnt common; again, not even playing a game, nothing intense on the CPU or GPU whatsoever, when it switches my CPU will go haywire and my GPU temps start rising to around 60*C as if im playing a game, JUST SITTING ON THE DESKTOP . I dont get it because my specs overly exceed average :huh:. does ANYBODY have any suggestions or solutions cuz ive searched high and low

Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V
Processor - i7 3770K
RAM - PNY Xceler8 16GB 1600MHz
Graphics Card - Nvidia EVGA GTX 690
Power Supply - Seasonic X1050 1050W
Sound Card - Sound Blaster Zx
SSD - Crucial M4 128GB for OS
HDD - 300GB WD Velociraptor
OS - Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Welcome to Seven Forums xRelentlessXx. When this happens, do you have time to open task manager and see if you have a process eating up CPU and/or ram? A Guy

I do but never tried it. Its only happened twice within 2 months

The next time it happens, Ctrl+Shift+Esc and look at the Processes tab, then the Performance tab. It could be an updater, it could be a driver, hardware, even malware. Too many possibilities. A Guy
