RC-7 Install looking for cd/dvd drivers

I cannot load the rc-7 beta due to a driver issue with a cd/dvd driver. I have one each of a dvd reader-cd r/w and a dvd writer. I've checked the rc-7 catalog and drivers page but found nothing. I tried switching the drives and disconnecting each but to no avail. Any help is very much appreciated. Mike

I think youll find that windows will automatically install the drivers for your devices. Shouldnt be a problem

Actually it won't. unless that prerequisite is met you can't continue.

You say you cannot load the RC. Are you saying you cannot boot off the DVD media that you burned, or that the drive / media is not recognized in your current OS?

So use a USB Stick and boot from it?

I've had the same problem but I couldnt resolve it so I just booted a xp sp2 cd installed it and then installed windows 7 from xp replacing xp to windows 7 and tada

I do get to a boot screen. I select install & then get the error.
I have also made a boot drive using a compact flash card with the same results.
I have read elsewhere that unplugging everything you can & disabling all but the essentials in the bios may do it. I'l give that a try when I get the chance.
Mercurials post sound like it would be worth a try as well. It's a shame that I wipped my XP drive after 2 yrs of non-use.I would have loaded it from that.

Reburn your dvd disk using a lower speed, like 4x or 1x.
