That 1x you posted from the specs is actually 1 x,

Realtek®, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller(s)

meaning that there is one controller on the motherboard. Some boards come with dual LAN controllers, hence why they mentioned it only having one. The second will be the name of the onboard LAN controller.

You install the appropriate drivers? Seeing as that board doesn't come with wireless, then you need to go to the wireless card manufacturer's site to get it.

I have downloaded the latest driver and installed it but that didn't fix the problem. Ever since I built my pc, i've been using an USB adapter to connect to my wifi. For a reason unknown, the usb could't connect anymore. I bought a different brand of usb adapter, but it did't work out either. I was able to connect to the internet through a cat5 cable plugged to the modem, but that connection didn't last long. For a reason unknown windows 7 couldn't make the connection possible. I have tried changing the adapter settings, update the drivers, roll back the drivers and even a repiar install of windows 7, but so far nothing I've done can fix the LAN controller.

Hi aioros,

Seems strange that you cannot connect using either usb adapter or Wireless?

But if you dont see a problem in Device Manager:

device manager shows the controller is working properly but can't connect either wirelessly or with an ethernet cable.

Then Try this:

In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > command prompt > right click and run as administrator > click yes and you will be @ the Command Prompt.

Enter the word ping, followed by a space, then the domain name. (use www.google.com)

ping.gif

If the results shows 4 replies, the connection is working. The time shows you how fast the connection is. If you see a "timed out" error instead of a reply, there is a breakdown somewhere between your computer and the domain (ie. google)

Try this and tell me the outcome?

Cheers

Dave

Does the wireless adapter see the wireless networks?(but just can't connect)

Is service "DHCP-client" and "DNS Client" started? If not... can you start them manually? startup type=automatic?

Do you mean you don't see output and don't see errors? That's quite normal because output has been sent to file ipconf.txt
Post that file

I tried the ipconf.txt but this is what I get, see pictures please.
I did a clean install of windows 7 last night. I backed up my files though. It seems windows is fighting the connection. But I can't connect to the internet yet. 6P96A is my wireless network, it shows there, but windows goes in a loop trying to recognize it, trying to connect and then doesn't see it anymore.
