In the start menu the games I play don't go higher up the list, in fact they keep getting pushed down until they aren't even in the menu at all by programs that I run once in a blue moon.

Games should be ordered by how frequently they are used, the same way that all other programs are, despite the fact that there is a games folder.

...and yes, I'm aware that games can be pinned to the start menu.

Yes they did after I cleared the start menu but ever since they get pushed further down the list and the only way to see them again is to remove the other shortcuts from the list.

The games simply aren't being counted every time you run them. Or that's what appears to be happening for me.

Oh and btw, the only three games I have installed all have the games for windows logo...

Well, I'd just pin the games to your taskbar or start menu and leave it at that as you mentioned.

Personally, I have the Start Menu set to display the games link on the right side of the menu, and it contains the shortcuts to the games themselves. It is the neatest and most convenient way of accessing them that I have found.
