Solved Reducing system check time at boot up

Please excuse my ignorance but I am not sure what you are telling me as I am fairly new to computing. From what I have recently learned it is the loading of services which is taking the lions share of time and as I am unable to decide which services to disable without effecting the computer performance I shall have to leave things alone.

What you can do is install Soluto. That will tell you on your next boot which processes you can stop from loading and you can stop them right there with the Soluto interface. https://www.soluto.com/ It also tells you how long it takes to load each and every process and how many processes are being loaded (ususally around 60).

If you do not want to stop processes from loading all together, you can set them to a deferred load which will then happen whilst you are already operating and will not impact the initial load time - in fact you will never notice the deferred load.

And what I was trying to tell you thru my own examples is that your boot time is not out of the ordinary. In fact it is pretty fast for a vanilla system.

I think you don't know what 'vanilla system' means. It is a system that was left as it came and was not tweaked.

Btw: most of my systems run vanilla too. It is not worth the trouble to tweak them to gain a few milliseconds.

And you may want to think about your choice of words if you do not want to be banned from this forum.

As far as I am concerned I said nothing offensive even though I thought I was replying to derogatory remarks concerning my computer. If one of the requisites of being a member of this forum requires one to be servile then you are correct,it is not the one for me or any other Englishman/Women who believes in free speech.Politeness and courtesy ,yes, servility no.
Would also mention that when I addressed you as "old man" that was in a friendly sense such as "old boy,old fellah and such like.Never imagined you would take umbrage at a friendly address.
