Remove an icon from Control Panel

I inadvertently tried to install TweakUI from XP and have since uninstalled it, but the icon still remains in Control Panel. Where in the registry can I delete this please???
(I have Windows Ultimate, 32bit)

Hello Archdeacon, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can look in the registry at the location below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace

Once there, look at each long number CLSID key in the left pane under NameSpace until you see the same TweakUI entry that displays in the Control Panel in the right pane for (Default). If you spot it, then you can just right click on and delete the long number CLSID key for it.

Thank you !!! I've been searching all day for a solution to this particular problem and must have tried a dozen different "cures" before I came across yours and it was right on ! You sir , definitely know your Windows .
