Remove box from recycle bin icon

Is there a way to remove the box around the recycle bin that shows up when the mouse hovers?

Also is it possible to remove the text from it, so I only have the icon?

Hello Jim,

I'm sorry, but you cannot stop it from having the box around the icon since that is used to indicate that the icon (shortcut) is either in focus or has been selected.

You can use the method in this tutorial below to hide the text though.
