Solved Repair disc

Hi to all
Tried to create a 'system repair disc'. Clicked on 'Start' >'all programs' >'maintenance' >'create system repair disc' >DVD/CD but when I click on create disc I get 'parameter incorrect (0x80070057) Any ideas please

That's strange....I've never done that before, but I just did and it seemed to work. I used a DVD+R disk.


The program asks you to select a drive. What did you select there? I was given only one choice, D:.


It said something about using an RW disk. I didn't. I've not had an RW disk in the house in years. Just too unreliable.


I'll reboot and test that disk that I just made.


PS: I did make the disk, booted up with it, ran the Memory Test routine which rebooted my PC and then ran the test. I'm OK!

Possibly it can't find winre.wim


check it is set up correctly by running this batch file:

Suggest you gat a copy of the installation media, in case you ever need to reinstall. The installation media also contains the system recovery functions ( same as those in winre.wim ).

Your specs say you are running win7 32 bit.

What edition is it? Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate are the editions. Which do you have?

What search? It is a hidden system file.

Did you run the .cmd file I posted? I attached it for a reason.

The installation media you need is

X17-59183.ISO = en_windows_7_professional_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_676939.iso

Two different names for the same iso file. Check your messages.
