I have two laptops(HP & Toshiba) and have made system images for both.

Do I need a repair disk for each system or will one disk work for both?
If I create a new System image do I need to make a new Repair disk or will the previous disk still work?

Your input is appreciated. Thanks

You can use the same Repair Disk for both of your laptops. It only costs an extra cd/dvd to make an extra copy though, so you may as well make a spare Repair Disk. (You never know, one may go missing:D )

No you don't have to make a new disk when you create a new System image. The Disk operates independently from the backup image you have created.

Remember, you cannot use the Windows 7 Recovery Disc to re-install Windows - it only fixes (not replaces!) Windows.

Good info V3xar!

If you lost your hard drive or the system partition could you do a re-install first and then a system recovery to bring the image back to the pre failure state?

What can you recover from?

A system image includes Windows and system settings, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer, or the drive that Windows is installed on, if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.

When you restore your computer from a system image, it is a complete restoration and you can't choose individual items to restore, and all of your current programs, system settings, and files are replaced.

Have a look here for a bit more info : Restore from a Backup Image in Windows 7
