Hey guys I'm having some trouble with my laptop. I have a virus or viruses on my computer and have ran numerous scans and recovery disks to try and get them erased but to no avail. I've decided I'm going to factory reset my computer but in trying to do so I come up with another problem. During startup, I hit F8 and it brings up "advanced boot options". However, when I hit enter to "repair your computer", windows 7 launches instead. I can't enter the "repair your computer" part of advanced boot options. It seems to be that the virus isn't letting me do this but I really have no idea. Does anyone know how I can get this to work it's driving me crazy!

When you press <ENTER> on Repair your computer inside the Advanced Boot Options menu do you then get any options ?

I ran the scan once, deleted the items, then deleted items again. That must be the reason for the three different reports it gave me.

Lets see if this will help

Copy and paste the code below into Notepad. To open Notepad, click on the :orb: button in the Search programs and files box, type notepad and then press <ENTER> button .

Code:
@Echo off
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
cls
echo Script finished.
pause
del %0

In Notepad, click File and then Save. Type reset.bat for the file name . Change Save as Type to All Files, and then save the file to your desktop. After the file is saved, double-click on the file to open it. Once it's finished running, restart your computer. Check to see if your Internet connection is restored.
