repairer wiped win 7 activation.

took samsung laptop to repairer - touch pad failed - got it back but still faulty. On boot, message saying win 7 ultimate build 7600 not activated; this is BS as been ok for 18 months now untill attemped repair. Went online download activation file but error code " failed to initiate " This is a legal copy bought with the machine. No activation code anywhere on case. have not contacted MS yet but touch pad fault is definitly hardwear. Only option is wat remover unless there is some other way. what say all ?

Welcome to the forum John Neeting.

Your system should of come with SP-1 7601 instead of 7600.

Did this computer come with Windows 7 or Windows 8.x?

Complete this tutorial by Brink and post the log here. It should let us know what is going on.

Maybe so but 1. havent lost a byte of data in a decade 2. I don't need corporate, convoluted alternative agenda software companies to dictate terms of program operation that cost me or who I work for money because they design programs that cost me more time in keeping them running than doing actual work. 3. I wont deal with 8th party admin desk jockeys in india who shuffle you from one dept to another, haven't got a clue as to what happened dispite explaining it for hours to 10 different guys with bad english. Top heavy admin in multi level corporations don't impress me after nearly 1/2 a century in communications. If I have to, I will strip all the crap from any program in order to get it to do what was promised, what should happen and doesn't. Hope that helps
