Hi habeebkambrath,

Welcome to SevenForums!

Your system specs say Win7 you're reason indicates you are trying to install Win10.

What type of install is it? OEM or Retail

OEM it came on the computer from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM Key universal to that particular computer.

Retail, you purchased it from Microsoft or an approved vendor. Win7 will activate with that key on any one computer. Not blanket license, individual.

If your install is/was OEM, you should have the 25 character product key on the case and most likely a recovery partition, to set the desktop machine to factory condition, i.e. factory reset.

If shadow copy is working you may be able to obtain it there. If it is OEM then one of the other members may have the OEM universal key for that machine. I have two individuals that come to mind and haven't observed any posts by them in a while.

Did you defend against mistakes and make a full disk image to an external drive before you began your task?

Hi

Google the product key, multiple hits will likely mean its an MSDN key, thats passed its usage limit.
Genuine product keys will return that error message if its
Missentered/punched, using a B instead of an 8 etc
or in use on another computer.
