Resume from Sleep- CPU fan low speed issue

I have an issue that whenever my Desktop PC resumes from sleep the CPU fans will only spin up to c. 1000rpm leading to a CPU temp of c. 70C.

Whenever I do a clean boot, restart or resume from hibernate the CPU fans spin up to c. 1500 rpm leading to a CPU temp of c. 57C.

Now I know some will say even 57C is too high, but my CPU has a max temp of 63C & I don't get any issues at this temp.

So why when I resume from sleep are the fans not controlled properly? Is this a BIOS issue- cannot see any relevant settings to change? Is there some Advanced Power Management setting I need to change- I cannot find anything. ACPI fan driver issues? I have tried SpeedFan but I have the same issue (BTW Speedfan with all fans at 100% [noisy] leads to a CPU Temp of c 47C). I'm at a loss really. I would like to use sleep rather than shutdown or hibernate.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I wouldn't expect even 57c to be normal for wake up or 47c after start up to be normal

Have you used resource monitor and the Overview section to see if anything like svchost.exe is running a muck ?

Thanks for the reply. Those are the temps the CPU settles at, not immediately from Wake-Up. It's an old, v.quiet HTPC with a fairly cramped case (Sony Vaio VGX-XL100) so never going to be super cool. The fan noise @ 57C is virtually silent. Though I have indeed had svchost.exe issues sometimes (high CPU usage), the above temps are in normal use.
