Resume problem

So I've been searching for a solution to this one for a while, and many people seem to have similar issues, but with subtle differences.

For me, the are occasions when I can't get windows to resume. Basically, it seems like 3 out of 4 times I can bring the computer from sleep or hibernation just fine, but the fourth time, the monitor will turn on, try and find a video feed, but find nothing, and then just go to sleep. I hold the power button until the comp powers off, then try again. It again tries to resume, but this time, I only get a black screen with the blinking white cursor. I shut it off again, and this time it asks me if I want to try again or delete the restoration data and continue to windows. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to this. It SEEMS like every fourth time it does this, but I'm not sure. There are no other major issues with this installation. I have the entire computer hooked up to a surge protector. If I press any keys when I'm trying to get it to resume, nothing happens. Any ideas?

Welcome to Seven Forums Will, two things to try:
1. Uninstall and delete the ATI driver you have. Go to the maker's site and download/install their latest driver.

2. Uninstall and delete the driver for your Samsung monitor and use the generic Windows driver.

Many times it's better not to use the graphics driver Windows Update pushes.
