Right click/context menu appears invisible, minus the outline

Okay, my system spec should show in my profile now, take a look, thanks!

I'm just still baffled as it hasn't been a problem for the seven months I had it.

Also in case I missed it, my computer is a desktop, self built.

To be honest I'd rather not run a GPU stress test on my pc, just in case it causes damage to the parts. While I want to get to the bottom of my issue, it's not severe enough for me to risk damaging the card or causing more issues with my pc. Sorry!

I understand your caution, but if you disable these:
Burn-in
Xtreme burn-in
Post FX
It should be ok. If your GPU temp approaches 65C, stop the test.

Look for any anomalies in the donut display, or stuttering. Anomalies like white spots, image not right, etc.

Nope, it all seemed to be fine, got up to 45c, but nothing went wrong. How does this help with the context menu issue though? A context menu is hardly graphic heavy, Aero theme or not!

And it's now done it with the entire bookmarks drop down menu in firefox. It seems to sporadically change which drop down it effects, and it's beginning to get on my nerves. I was prepared to live with it, but not if it's going to change which drop down it decides to affect!

Also, if I hover over "bookmarks" it doesn't appear. Quickly change to hover over "history" and that drop down appears fine, flick back to hovering over "bookmarks" and nothing, then quickly back to "history" which appears fine, and then back to "bookmarks" and it works again.

In fact, If i change from bookmarks>history>bookmarks>history>bookmarks, it will appear, disappear, then appear again like routine. Seems to suggest there is something more wrong that performance if it only affects one drop down option.

It sounds to me like there could be a corrupted system file. Please follow the following instructions exactly.

1. Open the start menu, and select the search bar at the bottom.
2. Type "cmd", when it appears on the menu screen, right-click it, and select "run as administrator." That last part is very important
3. Type "SFC /SCANNOW" (minus the quotation marks).
4. Let the scan run until completion.
5. If integrity errors are found, and it said it could not fix everything, reboot the computer, and then repeat steps 1-4. Do this up to three times to try to fix all errors. If it can't fix everything after 4 scans, skip to step 6.
6. Report what it said to us.

That was one of the first things I did to check the system as I thought that would be the issue, but it came back with zero problems found. I'll try again though just in case.

EDIT: Still came back the same, zero integrity violations.

Sorry, missed that last paragraph on your first post.

Can you give a better idea of when this first started and can you check to see if you have any system restore dates from before you first noticed the problem?

I believe it started about a day ago, maybe two? I only really started noticing it with regularity today however.

I also have a restore point from the thirteenth of Feburary, and nothing sooner. Despite re-installing firefox today, it didn't generate a restore point.

I tried open office and all the drop down menu's work fine in that, no issues. Tried a few other programs and also had no luck reproducing the issue, so I have made a post on the firefox forum in case they can help.

I am using firefox 19.0, the latest version.

I changed a few layout settings in firefox so the menu bar is visible all the time and moved the tab bar, but nothing else beyond that has been changed.

Looking online it seems that Firefox 19 was released in the 19th of this month, so it could very well be a bug with Firefox 19. In fact, I consider that to be very likely. The official release of Firefox 20 isn't until April, so I see three options unless someone else has the answer to your problem. Live with it until the new version comes out, try a different web browser, or try the Firefox beta, which may or may not be more buggy.

EDIT: make sure to try anything Layback suggest before trying of the options I listed. He's smarter than I am anyways.

I gave it a go, and it still occurs. Also to note, before I updated firefox today when i reinstalled, it still occurred on the old version of firefox. It's somehow related to my pc only, but only affects the firefox browser.

According to the Firefox website, it updates automatically, so if you restarted your computer and/or browser yesterday or Tuesday it may have updated but left your settings the same. I'm not sure if there is a way to download an older version, but if you can, you could download the installer, remove the current version of Firefox, DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET, install the old version and change the update setting in options to not update and see what happens.
