Is Roboform NO longer free? On my wife's pc it says there is and update, but have to pay for it. I have the same version, but it is still working for now.

I also tried looking it up with Google and could only find the trial version, which I assume will work only for a short time.

If anyone knows where to download the free version that actually works, I would appreciate the info.

If Roboform is no longer free does anyone know a good replacement?

huffman,
Since I'm a long time user and strong fan of Roboform, I'll look up the answer for you.

However, if I recollect correctly, its been awhile since Roboform was free.

They now also offer Roboform Everywhere which is what I have. Forget what it costs. It is marvelous. I license and you install it on any and all of your computers. A copy of your Roboform entries are kept on their servers and you can fetch your roboform stuff from anywhere.

Roboform Everywhere is not free but worth every penny. The competition doesn't begin to match up to the power and capabilities of Roboform and, yes, I've tried the other products.

roboform is in a class by itself.

I'm going to refer you to: RoboForm Product Comparison

If after viewing that page you still have questions, be sure to pose them.

Price info is also there. Whether you use Desktop or Everywhere is dependent upon your needs.

Looks like Everywhere is $10 the first year and $20/yr thereafter where as Desktop is $30 one-time fee.

Since I've go everywhere literally everywhere then that's the one I use.

Heck, you can even put the Everywhere on a usb stick. I've used that before when setting up a new computer, but generally since roboform keeps all of my stuff, then I'm good.

Thanks karlsnooks, that is a lot of good information. It just amazed me that my Roboform still works and the wife's does NOT since both were installed from the same install program; both on Win 7 Pro and about the same time.

Roboform's license appears to have remained unchanged since I started using it more than a decade ago.

Referring to the EULA @ RoboForm License Agreement

"EXCEPTION FOR NON-PROFIT CUSTOMERS. Non-Profit Customers (but not other Customers) are allowed to use RoboForm for free after the 30-day Trial Period ends, if Customer has less than 10 Logins (Passcards) in RoboForm."

My Wife still uses the "free" version as she only has a few sites at which to log in. I use the paid version of Roboform desktop 7 which IMO is well worth the money.

Two popular free alternatives are LastPass LastPass - Password Manager, Form Filler, Password Management & KeyPass KeePass Password Safe .

I tried them both when Roboform upgraded to a version requiring me to pay again (at a discount for current paid users) didn't care for either one myself but your opinion might vary.

Thanks A Guy. I downloaded that last free version file and will give it a try. I will make sure she does NOT have more than 10 logins.

Thanks again

there is an alternative, if you use firefox then there is the free roboform lite add on which has no limits for the number of passcards.
it is slightly limited in the other functions of the paid version (naturaly) but for the purpose of storing passwords and logging in its ideal, i also have my logins/passwords data folder backed up to live mesh which stores them safely and its monitored so every new login is synced.

If she has no more then 10 logins, you can have the most current Roboform. The last freeware would only be useful for more then that without having the paid version. A Guy
