For the past two or three months, at
least once per week, I get a notice
that there are updates for Microsoft
Office Outlook 2007 - which is not
even installed on any of my computers...

there are also updates for Bing - also
not installed on any of my computers.

Last, there are update notices for
Microsoft Security Essentials - Installed.

I uncheck and hide the update details
for Office and Bing and select MSE and
install it....

sometimes, the same day, I will get the
exact same notice for updates...

Sometimes, it's a couple of days later....

but, always the exact same updates...

How do I make this silly thing go away?

Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bit

The same thing is happening on my
laptop - 7 - 32 bit
Second PC 7 Ultimate - 64 bit...

your assistance is greatly appreciated

Karen

Hi,
Most of the updates your referring to are Optional/ Recommended,
Are there any Important updates repeating ?
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/186275-windows-update-fix-repeatedly-offered-update.html
On the windows update setting page Uncheck the box to give you recommended updates the same as Important ones,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2797-windows-update-settings-change.html
With the exception to MSE which releases several updates per day but the KB# should always be different,
Fix Windows Update Error messages and other Windows Update issues
Cheers.

MSE will update at least twice a day - if you look closely, they are likely to be the Definitions updates.
Office Updates also apply to things like the PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Viewers, which some manufacturers install by default.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

Yes, Microsoft Security Essentials updates
are the same everytime...

they show up in history as being installed
a number of times.
