No, you will not need to buy a new HDD. Any SATA HDD is compatible with the SATA 6 Gb/s port on the motherboard. That motherboard has 4 SATA 3 Gb/s ports and 2 SATA 6 Gb/s ports on it.

SATA is SATA is SATA. The drive will work fine, but it will run at the slowest point of the two. For example, if the board is 6 Gbps and the drive is 3...it will run at 3. If the board is 3 Gbps and the drive is 6...it will still run at 3.

A 6GB port is an overkill for any HDD - but it works. If you are lucky. the HDD can feed it at 1GB/sec. Those boards are made in anticipation of fast SSDs. But even Gen3 SSDs do not feed at 6GB though they are getting closer.
