Screeching noise when playing a 3D game

Hi, I recently upgraded the computer and everything is going fine BUT when I play a 3D game there is a screeching / squeeling noise coming from the PC, I dont know exactly where but I think its around the graphics card.

So I upgraded the graphics card and the problem is still there as before, I've tried moving the RAM about and trying with 1 stick too.

Specs:
Asus P8Z68-V Pro Mobo
i7 2600k 3.4GHz
MSI GTX 560Ti
Artic Cooler 7
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD

any ideas?

firstly... RAM!?!? why would a noise be coming from a static object with no moving parts?? :sarc:

its either going to be a case fan, PSU fan or CPU fan.

it could be your Artic 7, if its an original version its going to be old, and its also not the most competent of cooling device for an i7 processor, so might be struggling.

lastly... why on earth would you play games in 3D? bigger gimmick than tablet computers

Such noises are usually "singing" coils, more often on your motherboard than anywhere else...

Here's a picture of what they may look like (picture was taken for bad caps purposes!)

Cure is to lightly epoxy them to stop microscopic vibration that causes the sound...

Do you have Both PCI-e Powered plugs in. Are you sure your PSU is working ok.

Are the Power connectors Direct connection or adapters .

If the GFX card is not getting enough POWER it may be the cause of the Screeming.

All the power connector are directly connected, no adapters.

What do I do about the motherboard?

Well I just had a mess around and noticed that when I played a game full screen, the noise was gone, but in windowed mode, it buzzes like hell. Its weird!

I've tried the possibility of swapping the fan but the noise is still there, I bought a new 650w corsair psu in the hopes it fixes it. If anyone has any ideas then please bring it up, it'll be much appreciated

I've swapped the PSU with a new one but the problem is still there. Its narrowed it down the motherboard now. What can I do to stop the noise? It echoes through the headset too, just like a high pitched frequency buzzing through.

Any ideas?
