Wouldn't it be great if the Start > Search box had a history file associated with it to save having to type the same thing over and over.
(If it already has, I'm obviously missing something.)

I agree. It does have a history attached to it but to view it you have to type a search to bring the search window up, then you can view the history from the dropdown at top. Would be easier to just have a dropdown in the search box

You can use the Run box (Win+R). It works as you expect. Doesn't search though.
